Project Engineer

This individual should have the ability to provide technical supervision and management of projects assigned to them. They will also provide design support for major tasks within projects which are managed by others. They should have experience providing input into preparation of the proposals, budgets, and schedules for new project opportunities,  implementing quality control procedures, and serving as liaison with clients. They would potentially serve as Project Team Leaders, directing day-to-day technical requirements of staff. Project Engineer applicants should possess a BS in Civil Engineering and 5 to 10 years of experience in some combination of the following: design of open and closed section roadway drainage; stormwater management; erosion and sediment control; hydraulics and hydrology; bridge scour; sediment transport; and hydraulic modeling (both one and two dimensional). Experience with MDOT business units and/or MDE is preferred. Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, are factors for consideration.

Design Engineer

This individual should have the ability to provide design of engineering elements within projects. Design Engineer candidates should be able to apply engineering principles and standards for development of studies, designs, construction documents and oversight of construction activities. Design Engineers are expected to be able to operate design-based programs and perform standard design computations. Candidates for this position should be able to demonstrate independent decision making. They may also lead small projects/tasks. Candidates should possess a BS in Civil Engineering with 2-5 years of experience.  Engineer-In-Training Certificate is preferred. Experience with MDOT business units and/or MDE is preferred. Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, are factors for consideration.

Senior Construction Scheduler

This individual should have experience reviewing schedules created by others, performing time impact analysis, and writing clear reports.  Senior Construction Scheduler candidates should be proficient with Primavera P6 and P3 software.  Candidates should possess a minimum of 10 years of related experience, with transit or transportation experience preferred.  Certification is not required.

Construction Inspection (all levels)

NMP seeks individuals with an excellent attitude to perform construction inspection for government highway, structures, and facility projects.  NMP provides opportunities for locations throughout Maryland and Delaware.  Candidates can range from very little knowledge of construction to experienced construction inspectors.  This is field work, outside on the construction projects and generally consists of inspecting the work of the contractors, providing reporting and inspection services for the government agency. Knowledge and/or prior experience in any/all of the following areas is preferable: asphalt paving, concrete, sidewalks, curb and gutter, bridges/structures, earthwork/grading, drainage, landscaping, signage/electrical, maintenance of traffic (MOT), office engineering, environmental controls, and any other highway or bridge-related construction operations. Candidates with MARTCP certifications in Asphalt, Concrete, and/or Soils/Aggregates are preferred, but those certifications are not required for initial consideration. Erosion and sediment certifications (Green and Yellow Cards), OSHA Safety and MOT certs are also helpful. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and a dependable vehicle. Job and commute mileage is generally reimbursable based upon government allowances.

Erosion & Sediment Control / Stormwater Management Plan Reviewer

This individual should be a licensed professional engineer in the state of Maryland, focused on water resources engineering, with a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in stormwater management and erosion and sediment control in Maryland.  This individual will act as representative of Maryland Department of the Environment and various municipalities, performing review of erosion and sediment control and stormwater management design on behalf of the approving authority.  This individual should be experienced in a variety of projects and with focus on ensuring compliance with applicable erosion and sediment control and stormwater management regulations, ultimately resulting in erosion and sediment control and stormwater management design approval.
