About NMP

Founded in 2002 by Company President Navrang Patel, NMP Engineering Consultants is a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) with more than 20 employees. Our talented staff provide engineering, landscape architecture, planning, and environmental design services, along with expedited review of plans.

NMP provides specialized expertise in stormwater management (SWM), drainage, erosion and sediment control (ESC), stream restoration, landscape design, construction administration, and as-built inspection, to a wide range of clients. The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA), Baltimore City, surrounding Counties, and Prime Consultants throughout the region are among the clients we regularly serve.

Well-versed on the regulations and industry standards in the State of Maryland upon which our work is based, NMP staff consistently utilize their thorough knowledge of the 2000 MDE SWM Design Manual, the 2011 MD Standards and Specifications for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control, the latest guidelines for state and federal projects involving SWM and ESC, MDE water quality banking agreements, the MD Waterway Construction Guidelines, the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), the SHA Fund 74 drainage program, the Maryland Conservation Act, and the Roadside Tree Law to complete project tasks. We have significant experience in preparing analyses, reports, and plans related to, SHA special projects, access permits, utility permits, drainage complaint investigations, joint permit applications for impacts to wetlands and waterways, roadside tree permits, forest stand delineations, forest conservation plans, landscape plans, and expedited review of plans through MDE permitting.

Specific firm experience includes, but is not limited to, open and closed drainage system design, culvert analysis and design, storm drain design, SWM analysis, SWM facility design for both new and retrofit construction, SWM facility inspection, multi-phase ESC design, floodplain studies and analysis, and stream restoration/stabilization (Applied Fluvial Geomorphology).

From preliminary desktop evaluations and field investigations used to verify existing conditions, through concept design, final design, project implementation, as-built certifications, and long-term maintenance, NMP is readily capable of assisting our clients in achieving short-term and long-range project goals. Whether working independently for our clients, teaming with other Consultants in site investigations and design, or reviewing work produced by others, NMP focuses on ensuring regulations are met and project compliance and goals are achieved.
